One convention that has been used is editing. This has been shown when there are the names that appear in the opening sequence. This is shown at the beginning of the sequence considering it was helping introduce the main characters. The editing of adding music is what showed the element of the comedy really well as well as the suspense when entering the house, seeing the candles or even in Hainault getting scared.

One convention that is used in the opening sequence is sound effects. This is shown from throughout the clip as the music can show the tone of the clip.This opening sequence is a thriller comedy so in some areas the music that is edited in would be upbeat and some are subtle and mysterious.This helps the opening sequence as the audience can identify the mood of the trailer.

Finally another convention that has been used is the low key lighting. The light throughout the opening sequence has shown different elements of mystery and joy. For example, as we were in the house, the scene of the candle was shown. This shows the audience that there is a sense of suspense as there is constant flickering within this scene and really enhances the thriller elements, where as when the sisters wake up, it is bright which shows a happy atmosphere.
